Job Description:
Position Description
The SQA Engineer will execute test plans based on an understanding of
client's software testing methodology and of the software to be tested. As
an integral part of the product life cycle, the SQA Engineer will create
and execute test cases/scripts, potentially incorporating black box
testing and automated testing tools. The SQA Engineer will develop test
tools, report and manage defects, and regress software fixes for new and
existing products. This position involves working with developers and
management to review and improve requirements, specifications, and test
plans, as well as writing test scripts.
Essential Duties:
· Supports and enhances data processing, aggregation, and VEE
(validation, estimation, and editing) routines.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality
assurance with or without technical documentation.
· Ability to provide defect and risk information in a clear and
concise manner to different business groups.
· Execute, maintain and expand testing documentation (test plans,
test cases/scripts, defect reports, etc.) for products and solutions.
· Report defects and work with business and technical teams to
manage defects until resolved.
· Assist in on-going process improvement efforts to ensure test
planning, execution, and reporting methods are effective, efficient,
standardized, coordinated, and integrated
Required Qualifications/Skills/Education
· 0 - 2 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
· CS or BS/BA Degree or equivalent years of experience
· Familiar with QA methodologies
· Experience testing multi-tiered web application products a must.
· Black box experience and expertise.
· "Whatever it takes" attitude about completing tasks in a start-up
environment.
· Desire to learn new technologies.
· Ability to work independently, as well as within a team.
· Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
· Familiar with bug tracking tools
Desired Qualifications/Skills/Education
· Energy management industry experience a BIG plus, but not
required.
· Knowledge of relational databases
· Experience with automated test tools would be a plus
· White box testing experience.
