Job Description:
If you're an exceptional recent graduate or a successful engineer who
knows Java wants to work in a fast-paced startup environment, we're
interested in talking with you.
we're looking for hands-on developers, not managers or staff architects
a new grad has to have an _ impressive _ resume, in terms of
accomplishments, or educational credentials, or both
anybody we hire needs to be able to think in terms of business
requirements AND technical constraints, and has to have very good
communications skills. This includes an excellent command of written &
spoken English.
Small companies work differently from big companies. Small (under 50)
company experience is a big plus
The ideal candidate has either a good grounding in UI design and
development, or a good grounding in high-volume transaction processing.
If they don't have these, they should be very interesting in learning
them.
We develop applications, not systems software. If a candidate has been
doing systems software for a long time, they had better be interested in
switching, & understand what that entails.
We're looking for people with talent and initiative, who can learn fast
and who are motivated to build great products and a great company, not
just to solve technical problems. We're interested in what you have done
mainly to show us what you're capable of – a track record of
accomplishment is more significant to us than any single piece of
technical knowledge or experience.
Our product is based on an innovative transaction engine that enables the
cost-effective handling of small payments. To achieve our goals for
reliability, efficiency, and security, we've developed a scalable,
redundant clustered architecture, written in Java and deployed on open-
source platforms and technologies including Linux, MySQL, and JBoss. As a
member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on every aspect of
the product, from the cluster architecture to the GUI, and every stage of
the development process, from specification to design to implementation
and debugging.
