Financial Analyst
East Longmeadow, MA

This position will provide financial analysis to support operations,
including budget preparation, variance analysis and control, and ad hoc
analysis as required. Some details are as follows:

Perform accounting month end activities, including journal entries,
inventory and variance summaries, inventory and account reconciliations,
headcount summaries, and other operational performance measurements.

Analyze reports to identify areas of concern to be addressed with
supervisors.

Cost new items and maintain integrity of data relevant to G/L Costing
impact including Revenue and COGS G/L accounts, purchase expense accounts.
Cost and Divisional category sets, overhead attachments, transfer price
cost. All on a daily basis.

Weekly labor hours reporting.

Review new projects for adherence to Capital Investment Policy; Reconcile
monthly fixed assets by project to the G/L; In conjunction with the
Engineering and R&D depts., decide which assets to capitalize at year end;
and provide a monthly detailed cash flow analysis by project.

Fixed asset system maintenance and depreciation estimates on a monthly
basis.

Coordinate Fixed Asset Physical Inventory every two years, per Newell
requirements. Send out Fixed assets to department heads on a quarterly
basis.

Work with Engineering and Marketing to provide cost estimates for any new
products/promotions.

Budget Indirect/Direct Manufacturing Expenses and roll and analyze new
standards.

Job Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2-5 years experience in Accounting field
Cost Accounting Reporting; minimum 2-4 years experience in public and/or
industry accounting
Strong PC skills
Business Acumen, Interpersonal Savvy, Superior Teamwork and Communication
Skills
Technical Knowledge, Initiative and Follow-up, Judgment and Problem
Solving Skills
Superior leadership and communication skills
Conflict Management/Composure
Organizational agility/getting things done through others
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments
simultaneously
