Regional Manager, Clinical Affairs - Framingham, MA

A great Framingham, MA based company is seeking a Regional Manager, Clinical Affairs. Here are the details:

Job Details:
The Regional Manager, Clinical Affairs will lead all clinical monitoring activities for regular, full-time and contract regional monitors/CRAs including personnel activities, training, and appropriate management of field resources to assure the successful completion of projects and support departmental goals and corporate objectives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: serve as primary point of contact for regional full-time and contract CRA staff; develop operating plans for field unit success; develop policies and procedures, job descriptions, develop (in conjunction with senior management) performance metrics, as well as communicate and implement performance objectives. The Regional Manager is expected to provide the department head with staffing, recruitment, and hiring recommendations; develop tools for performance and quality assessment; provide on-going training for staff; maintain frequent open and direct communication with their direct reports; co-monitor with CRAs to resolve site and/or CRA problems; provide long range planning of regional monitoring resources in support of expected growth of the business; interact with Clinical Project Managers and Senior Managers regarding regional monitor resourcing and other issues; provide oversight to the Finance department for the execution of all contracts for contract employees, including the negotiation of all legal and financial issues.

Required qualifications:
BS in scientific discipline; minimum 4 years direct industry experience including a minimum of 3 years clinical monitoring experience; 1 year project and/or staff management experience. Must have strong management abilities and be able to manage complex tasks from a distance. Must also have strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and pathophysiology; very strong working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices; very strong organizational skills; the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment; very strong written and verbal communication and diplomacy skills; professional demeanor and appearance. Must be a dedicated team player.

Preferred qualifications:
MS degree; 2 years experience in project and/or staff management; 3+ years experience in a CRO; experience managing a growing team and a growing department; very strong management skills.
